I made this for those few that are lucky enough to find love but aren't allowed to.

Let me know if you want the big printable version or want to reuse this non-commercially and in harmony with this message elsewhere.

Love is a beautiful thing, no matter who it is with. Its no one elses business what you do, who you do it with, and who you love. This is really nicely done.

I really don't see why it bothers people so much...it's just like others would tell the not to marry whoever they like, and those others aren't even related to them.People have to grow up and accept that fact.

I like how you expressed this.

I enlisted to fight for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness of all Americans, not just the straight ones.

I'm not gay...usually...but I think the discrimination that gays have to face everywhere is disgusting. I always look for gay couples at art shows when I'm exhibiting...they have the good taste and eye for beauty that might convince them to buy one of my paintings. Stand up for your rights!

I admire your message, and, though straight, I support your cause.

One thing that bugs me a bit though: For those of us who are not from america, please explain what proposition 8 is in your artist's comments. It's annoying to have to interrupt your browsing spree, just to open google and look it up.

This is such a great statement. I am in full agreement. One of my best friends is gay and he and his husband had to go to another state to be married...but their own home state refuses to acknowledge the marraige. That and his family disowned him for his "unnatural attraction to men".

Proposition 8 is an initiative that was on the California ballot in 2008. It was voted in, effectively overturning the California Supreme Court decision to allow gay marriage in the state of California. Opponents fought the law and lost. A similar law was passed in Maine the following year.

You're welcome.

and also, on August 4th, it was finally overturned by a judge presiding over a lawsuit called Perry V. Scwarzeneggar in which the plaintiff argued the law violated their civil rights, which obviously the judge agreed with.

Wondeful and true. I don't understand Proposition 8 in the slightest. Demeaning and taking away the rights of other people simply because of who they love... It is a disgrace. What has happened to the nation where "everyone can be free"?

I'm English so I'm not sure, but I'm rather certain that I heard the phrase goes "Land of the Free, Home of the Brave", not "Land of heterosexual, home of the bigoted"

Exactly. It really hurts that so many heterosexuals (I know that all of them aren't the same way, but you know... The ones who keep up from our freedom) are pressing us into the shadows. The LGBT community deserves to live, too. We're all human; we're all part of this world, whether they like it or not.

Quite so, I am of your mind there, though in fairness, it is difficult for us to live freely in places such as the US, the Middle East, part of Africa, etc, when such powerful social and religious taboos infringe upon rights other nations are happier to impart.

That's also true. I'm just hoping that more minds will be opened within the next ten years or so. If some of our states are beginning to allow same-sex marriage, then it seems that others may soon follow suit.

I'm waiting for Britain to allow same-sex marriage personally. I have to admit, our laws have been changing faster than I expected them to. Still, I'm constantly disgusted by various hate and discrimination around the world, not just to the LGBT Community, but to everyone in general. I mean, I've seen someone nearly beaten for accidentally mistaking an Indian for a Paki. The countries themselves have nukes aimed at each other.

It surprises me that the world hasn't been vapourised yet sometimes, it really does you know

God, do I know what you mean? People are constantly at each others' throats for every little thing. There's war in every direction, seemingly every nation... I just can't believe all the hate in the world toward all sorts of other people. Even in my school, I have the kids who hate LGBT people, African-Americans, Mexicans, Muslims, Jews, all sorts of people... And my school only has about 300 people. It's really sad.
